Why I use it

Drupal 8 finally aligned Drupal with the broader PHP ecosystem. Composer, Symfony, dependency injection, and configuration management dramatically improved the developer experience while making enterprise Drupal projects easier to maintain over the long term. Many of the practices I rely on today began with Drupal 8.

How I use it

Drupal 8 represented the most significant architectural change in Drupal's history. Composer-based dependency management, Symfony components, configuration management, services, plugins, and modern object-oriented PHP fundamentally changed how Drupal applications were designed, developed, and maintained.

Transitioning to Drupal 8 required more than learning new APIs. It required adopting a different way of thinking about application architecture. I embraced those changes early, helping organizations modernize development workflows while taking advantage of the platform's improved extensibility and maintainability.

For clients, Drupal 8 marked the beginning of a platform that could evolve continuously instead of requiring complete rewrites every few years. Much of today's Drupal ecosystem is built on the architectural decisions introduced during this release.
